Haunted Clarkston What we record and why

The short version

There's a camera pointed at the driveway. It's how the ghosts know where you are. It films a few seconds of you walking up. That video stays on a computer in the house — not on the internet.

Scan the sign and you can watch your bit. You can delete it. And if you want other people to be able to see it, you have to say so first. Nobody else gets to decide that for you.

What is recorded

Video of the driveway, and the sidewalk at the end of it, while the show is on. It sees you. It never hears you. Nobody's face is matched against anything, and we don't make a list of who came.

Where it goes

Onto a computer in the house, and nowhere else. A clip is only copied to this website if somebody scans the sign and asks for it. A clip nobody asks for never leaves the house.

How long it is kept

  • Your private link works for 30 days. If your video has a public link too, your private one keeps working for as long as that does — so you never lose the power to take it down.
  • Anything nobody asked for is deleted at the end of the season.
  • A public video stays up until somebody takes it down.

What you can ask for

  • A copy of your video. That is the save button on your own page.
  • Delete it — one tap on your page. You don't have to say why.
  • Take down any video you are in, even if you never had a link to it.
  • To be told what we hold about you. It is very little: a video, the time it was taken, and whether anybody pressed Share.

Who decides about a child's video

A parent or guardian — not the child holding the phone. Share asks them to say so before anything goes public, and nothing is ever shared for you.

When a public link is posted in a message or on social media, the app shows a still picture from the video beside it. That app may keep its own copy of the picture even after the video is taken down here.

Who is responsible

Not a company. Nothing is sold, shared or handed to anybody else, and there are no adverts on this site. The site does count its visitors, on the same server as this website: which pages get opened, the site or app that sent them, the country and town, and the kind of phone or browser. There are no cookies, your internet address isn't kept, and a private link is never recorded — only that a private page was opened.

Take a video down

You don't need a link, and you don't need to explain. Tell us roughly when you came and we will find it.
